Growing up one of the things I learned from my mother was home remedies for just about anything. One of the remedies I use often is for when I feel like I’m getting sick like the flu or the cold. It helps me especially when I have a sore throat. Now this will not prevent you from getting sick, but it will make you feel a lot better.
Peel a piece of fresh ginger root (about 1inch) and cut it in half
Place the ginger in a pot of water and bring to a boil.
When the water begins to boil, lower the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
Pour out in your favourite cup, add a teaspoon of honey or sweeten to taste.
For more flavor, you can squeeze 2 lemon wedges into the tea and then put the wedges into the tea. It is best to drink hot or warm.
